Horseback riding... read more and massage were great and good deals. Rooms are lovely (a little dark) and grounds are great. Sister property is also beautiful (gift shop is better there). Food was nice and soups were super. Breakfast could have been a little better with some protein available. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Hotel Le Jardin du Roy in L'Lsalo - When we arrive at hotel Le Jardin du Roy, we are immediately blown off our socks. The building resembles a combination of an English cottage and a medieval castle with... read more high ceilings and impressive crown luster. We are warmly welcomed with a nice drink and a refreshing cloth. Then we walk through our beautiful garden with large swimming pool, sun loungers and parasols to our room. Although, it is more a cottage with a king-size four-poster bed, an XXL bathroom, a mansard room with an extra bed and a private terrace with a view of the large garden and horse meadow. Fantastic! This exceeds our wildest expectations and we never thought there were such luxury resorts in Madagascar.

From 19:00 the restaurant doors of Le Jardin du Roy open and we take a seat at a beautifully set table. We are very surprised when it appears that we cannot eat à la carte, but only have a choice of three starters, three main meals and three desserts. No problem, we are not difficult people and opt for a nice zebu steak. The price is not too bad for such a class hotel, because for two alcoholic drinks and two main courses we only pay 69,000 Ariary (around 17 EUR).

Fabulous. - This was an incredible hotel by any standards..superb interior design.Super efficient friendly staff. The incredible care taken with the design and gardens.even stone natural form reliefs in the walls.Foreign exchange... read more and stylish gift shop..You could buy a book at reception about the foundation of this rather magical place. It was fascinating read full of great pictures if the area.I found the staff incredibly nice people. Nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was a good addition. There were some woodland areas in walking distance which had many local birds and even a few lemurs.I know it’s a bit of a contrast to the poverty of the local surroundings though I did enjoy my stay and I am sure it helps a lot of locals with employment. There are some great hotels in Madagascar but this must be one of the best.. i’d love to go back someday great memoriesand my thanks to all the wonderfull staff.
