Great location and beautiful property and rooms - Beautiful setting and great architecture, combined with very friendly service made this a great place to stay for three nights to visit and walk in Isalo national park. Travelling with... read more our grown up son and his girlfriend, we arrived to welcome drink after a long day’s drive from Ranomafana. Very friendly staff and a touch of style.
The setting for this hotel amount sandstone rock formations is lovely, and the place as modern feel with great black & white photography across the main public spaces. About 20 minutes drive from the village at the entrance to the park. Larger than the other properties on the trip, but it didn’t feel crowded or busy.
Only suggestion to the kitchen to make sure they are sending the food out hot rather than warm - tasted great, but three nights and a lunch suggests that there is a quality control issue. And one evening the vanilla tart was over chilled. Small details, but would help make “great” to “superb”. On the other hand the breakfasts were superb with some of the best croissant’s I’ve tasted anywhere in the world - fresh out of the oven. Was able to pay extras by card on departure (and tip in euros), so saved precious ariary.

Beautiful but lacked atmosphere - A beautifully designed hotel that blends into its surroundings. Nice welcome with a cold towel and a hibiscus drink. The bedrooms are in buildings scattered around the grounds. We had... read more room 55 which was a 2 storey room upstairs. There was a large private balcony outside with table and chairs. Inside a large comfortable double bed with mosquito net, a table and chairs and hanging space. There was also a safe. Upstairs on a mezzanine floor was a single bed. There was a separate bathroom with a large bath! Shower gel, shampoo and soap provided at the beginning of your stay. Bottles of water provided every day. Wi-Fi available in the bedroom and main areas of the hotel. Rooms have sockets and elec but no kettle. Breakfast was the same every day a plate of fruit, toast, croissants and pain au chocolate, orange juice, tea/coffee. We sat outside on the terrace and it was lovely. They will serve early if you ask. If you want lunch you order at breakfast. Dinner is a set menu with 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts. The soups are very good! Eric the head waiter and his staff are very friendly. Will offer complimentary homemade rum after dinner! Nice bar to have pre dinner drinks when they also serve complimentary canapés. Lovely Grounds with a pool. Also massage and horse riding available but we didn’t use. Lacks atmosphere but maybe this was because they were so quiet whilst we were there.

Fabulous. - This was an incredible hotel by any standards..superb interior design.Super efficient friendly staff. The incredible care taken with the design and gardens.even stone natural form reliefs in the walls.Foreign exchange... read more and stylish gift shop..You could buy a book at reception about the foundation of this rather magical place. It was fascinating read full of great pictures if the area.I found the staff incredibly nice people. Nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was a good addition. There were some woodland areas in walking distance which had many local birds and even a few lemurs.I know it’s a bit of a contrast to the poverty of the local surroundings though I did enjoy my stay and I am sure it helps a lot of locals with employment. There are some great hotels in Madagascar but this must be one of the best.. i’d love to go back someday great memoriesand my thanks to all the wonderfull staff.
